In the Revolution category, the iphi 2019 goes to the IMAGINE Workshop and Concert Series, a project directed by Dr. Seba Ali, Lebanese American University (Beirut)
Jury Statement: “As part of the IMAGINE workshop and concert series at the Lebanese American University (LAU) in Beirut, the multi-disciplinary Reflections event addressing issues such as gender equality and human rights, attracted considerable attention. In addition to music, dance and theatre performances by forgotten artists, the first queer fashion show in Lebanon was staged at the campus. Founded by Dr. Seba Ali, the IMAGINE series has kicked off a courageous and open dialogue on art, design and gender, thus providing a significant contribution to the public and academic discourse, as well as to promoting acceptance of diversity.”
